Outstanding French violin, approx. 1822

This beautiful French violin is an unmistakable quality instrument from the French center of violin making Mirecourt, that was built around 1822. The plausible label indicates a work by "Etienne Leprevotte, Luthier de le Duc de Bordeaux" (Maker to the Duke of Bordeux). The violin features an outstanding sound that is worthy of its claimed provenance, with a clear, radiant, carrying voice that is balanced throughout all of the violin's registers, with assertiveness and a broad scope. Its very transparent, golden brown varnish with an older lustre and patina gives this premium instrument its elegant aesthetic, which is complemented by an expressive, individually styled scroll. We offer this interesting French violin in best condition, ready to play and worked over by our experienced luthier.
