German Markneukirchen violin bow, approx. 1940 - warm tone

This excellent German violin bow with outstanding playing properties was made in Markneukirchen in the early 20th century; its bright, warm and focusses sound gives it excellent qualities that make it well suited to demanding playing. Its round stick of orange-brown pernambuco is of beautiful reactivity and good strength. The ebony frog is silver mounted with a Pearl eye and a three part silver-ebony adjuster. Its balance point is at 25.1 cm, the bow is well balanced, having its perceived balance point slightly inclined towards the lower half of the stick. This tense and reactively playing violin bow with a warm, precise tone is an universal player, it measures 74.3 cm in length and is in convenient weight.
