19th century French violin, approx. 1880

This interesting antique violin was built approx. 1880 by an unknown violin maker, most probably in Mirecourt in France. This good insrument demonstrates the high quality demands better quality Mirecourtian violins was designed to meet, with fine visual aesthetics and excellent musical properties. The intensively shining, highly transparent dark-orange varnish with light patina decorates the instrument, that was built after an elegant model with beautiful edgework full of individuality. This interesting 19th century French violin is undamaged and in best playing condition, after a complete work-over by our violin maker. It features a well-defined, warm, large sound with a very easy response.
