German Violin by Ludwig Gläsel jr., Markneukirchen
This recommendable German violin was crafted by renowned Ludwig Gläsel jr. in Markneukirchen/Saxony in the early 20th century. It bears his original Ludwig Gläsel Jr. label as well as a J.B. Rogeri model label, the violin was made of very interesting and well-chosen tonewoods. Highly transparent golden-brown varnish underlines the impressive, narrow flames of the two-piece maple back. The top is made of medium grained spruce with a very fine texture; minor traces of use indicate the more than 100 years of the instrument´s history. The expressive design of the body and scroll and the skillfully crafted arching are the clear work of an experienced master, experience that created a fine quality, individual violin with an unique sound, that is dark, warm and sweet – an impressive instrument that was thoroughly worked over, set up and made ready to play by the luthiers in our workshop.
