Very fine French viola bow by Pierre Testa, Paris (contemporary)

This very fine French viola bow was made by contemporary bow maker Pierre Testa in Paris, a name not at all unknown to connaisseurs and professional players worldwide. The tense, round stick originally stamped "P. Testa Paris" on shaft is made of finest quality red pernambuco wood of good strength which is very elastic, featuring a perfect combination of stiffness, tension and elasticity, so that the bow plays both fluidly and strong. This fien Pierre Testa viola bow measures 74.7 cm including the adjuster, with a balance point that feels perfectly centered, measuring at 25.5 cm. The most delicate ebony frog is silver mounted and features a pearl eye and a three part silver-ebony adjuster. The quality of this premium French viola bow is self-evident in the immensely powerful, noble, clear and huge sound and great volume it produces, immediately ready to play after a complete workover.
