Matured, resonant sounds: Old violin from Saxony

In approximately 1930 an unknown violin maker from Saxony built this old German violin, a straightforward instrument, that is recommendable for its good playing and sound qualities at a relatively low price. It was crafted after Guarneri patterns and feautures a one piece back; the orange-brown varnish clearly indicates the provenance of the violin, that is preserved crack-free and was meticulously worked over by our luthier. He applied a completely new setup, including saddle, pegs, bridge, soundpost and strings. In immediate playing condition the violin unfolds its very beautiful, mature and clear sound, that is rich in overtones, resonant and, in the lower ranges, warm and slightly dark.
