This originally stamped German violin bow is a very good work by master bow-maker Walter Zapf and was crafted in the 1960s in Markneukirchen-Siebenbrunn, in the center of violin and bow making in Saxony. The round rather soft stick was made of light-brown pernambuco wood and features elasticity and a fluid play; at a very suitable weight of almost 60 g this piece offers excellent playing properties. This Walter Zapf violin bow´s head is characteristically shaped, the silver mounted ebony frog is decorated by a pearl eye and a white pearl slide, a beautiful, classical setup that is completed by the silver adjuster. The sensed balance-point of the bow is well centered in the middle, measured at 25.3 cm. The bow was completely worked over in our workshop and is offered ready to unfold a beautiful warm, mellow tone that complements sharp and brilliant sounding violins.
