This 3/4 violin is a mysterious beauty, that was built in the early 19th century, presumably in England. The flat, wide model with accentuated, extended corners may indicate this provenance. A cryptic signature below the right soundhole probably comes from one of the previous owners of the violin. The scroll is full of character, presenting an antique instrument with individual history, underlined by traces of its high age and intensive playing. This crack-free violin is preserved very well and was restored by our luthier, who put a new tailpiece and chinrest on it, suiting perfectly to the varnish. The full, round and dark sound has the remarkable quality that only old instruments possess, rich in volume and with strong, long lasting resonance.
