Neuner & Hornsteiner viola, Mittenwald c.1920

This old Neuner & Hornsteiner viola of Mittenwald is full of character. It has a striking aesthetic with wonderful woods, a luminous varnish of a particularly attractive, radiant orange-brown color over a luminous golden yellow ground. There is a playful elegance to its distinctive scroll, accurately and gracefully curved sound holes and wonderfully crafted edges and inlays. The character of this Mittenwald viola is a perfect reflection of its origins. With its bright, warm, well-balanced, resonant sound rich in volume, this good old viola was crafted with such great skill that it also has outstanding earnest and richly enigmatic tones as well. This Neuner & Hornsteiner Mittenwald viola has been meticulously worked over in our atelier and is offered ready to play. It is a fine instrument of quality that is easy to play and good for high standards, undamaged and in perfect condition.
