Large German violin after Giovanni Paolo Maggini, c.1900

The fascinating large violin model of the classical Italian maestro Giovanni Paolo Maggini was copied by many craftsmen in the past 400 years, due to the beauty of the double purfling and the additional winding of the scroll. The German "Maggini" violin offered here is one of these instruments; it was built approx. 1900, most probably in a Markneukirchen Schuster workshop and features the Schuster & Co. style that expresses his inimitable personality. The delicate ff-holes were finely cut in an oblique position, and the antiqued varnish indicates the Saxon provenance of the violin tastefully. Of course the most important feature of this violin is its excellent response and the exceptionally good sound in the price range, that is large, clear and warm, precise, radiant and full of character - a highly recommended instrument by our professional violinist that is offered in very good condition that was worked over thoroughly by our expert luthiers and is offered ready to play. Suitable for adult male players and other tall people.
