This French violin after Stradivari is a quality instrument that was built approx. 1921 in the well-known violin making town of Mirecourt. It features a large sound and bears the original label "copie d'apres Antonius Stradivarius revu et corrige par Paul Serdet 1921" inside the body. The fine- to medium grained one-piece table of spruce and the wonderfully flamed maple back is beautifully accentuated by the shining, transparent varnish of rare greenish-golden color. Tasteful antique touches and the excellently crafted purfling demonstrate the skills of the unknown violin maker. Our expert luthiers completely worked over this crack free and undamaged violin and made it ready to play, with a new rosewood setup. The strong voice of this instrument deserves our special recommendation, for its mature character, its preferable resonance and warmth.
