Violin making is an art of imitation, and even experienced masters are not embarassed to craft intricately detailed replicas which pay homage to the great names in their guild. This young master violin by Haat-Hedlef Uilderks is an outstanding example of such a tribute: it was made in Lübeck in the the 1990's. The violin bears witness to the skill of a talented hand which took inspiration from a model by Antonio Stradivari and rendered his extremely distinctive pattern with an excellent awareness of his style – and not only in the aesthetically pleasing shape of the sound holes. Subtle and very well-executed antiquing on the thick coat of transparent oil varnish give this violin the authentic character of a historic instrument. The remarkable quality of this ex-professional modern master violin is not only evident in such aesthetic details, however: more than that, its large, voluminous sound with its melting note to it can hold its own against Italian instruments. The luthiers in our atelier have made it ready to play, and this perfectly maintained Haat-Hedlef Uilderks violin with very few traces of use is ideal for the high standards of a soloist and professional player. Its voice allows musicians to play precise interpretations and enchant listeners with its warm and somewhat soft character. Uilderks instruments are played by musicians of the Artemis and Amaryllis quartets. This Uilderks violin is sold with a certificate of authenticity issued by the maker and an evaluation by an independent violin maker.
