This attractive Mittenwald violin by Alois Fütterer is a typical instrument of the best Mittenwald violin making tradition, a hand crafted quality piece of premium tone woods from the Karwendel mountains. The violin was made in the early 20th century and is patterned after a Sbroad, personal model. Medium grained hazel spruce and deeply flamed sycamore maple were varnished with a rich layer of a luminous dark red oil varnish that developed a fine craquellation at patina over time. This good instrument is ready to play - solid, top-quality artisanry; it has no cracks and is in outstanding condition, featuring a lovely patina that reflects its advanced age. Its well-balanced sound is bright, open, resonant and radiant, rich in overtones; this Alois Fütterer Mittenwald violin is very responsive.
