Old violin made by Julius Heinrich Zimmermann - J.H.Z., made in Germany circa 1930. Julius Heinrich Zimmermann was born in Sternberg 1851. He established his first workshop in Leipzig and after becoming quite famous he successfully estabished branches in Petersburg, Moscow and Riga. Only high-qualified and ambitioned specialist were engaged for his high quality production. Soon Julius Heinrich Zimmermanns instruments became famous for their superior sound and their high quality craftmanship. This gorgeous and despite many traces from playing well preserved violin originates from the JHZ atelier in Leipzig. It elates connoisseurs with its deeply flamed sycamore maple back and its rich orange-brown spirit-oil based varnish. The sound is full of character: warm and dark, resonant, with substance and sustain. Like all offers from Corilon violins, the violin has been worked over by our luthiers and is offered in pristine condition, ready to play. The sound is of outstanding quality and volume in the price range and this Julius Heinrich Zimmermann instrument is indeed a pleasure to play, and to look at - this instrument deserves our special recommendation!
