Antique French J.T.L. violin, c.1880

This beautifully red-brown colored French violin was manufactured at the end of the 19th Century in the workshops of the renowned Jerôme Thibouville-Lamy in France. The general appearance of the instrument is robust and masculine. The scroll is carved in a typical manner for late 19th century JTL Medio Fino instruments, as well as the scratched purfling, the well preserved varnish shows beautiful signs of age and slight patination. The violin is in excellent undamaged condition. It was professionally set up and tonally adjusted by our experienced luthier and is ready to play. Its huge and powerful sound is bright, open and singing in the upper registers, warm and of very good volume in the lower ranges.
