Mittenwald violin, Thomas Fürst, approx. 1900

This tonally excellent Mittenwald violin by Thomas Fürst is a typical instrument of the Mittenwald violin making tradition. Selected tonewoods originate from the Mittenwald surrounding Karwendel mountains, tonewoods responsible not only for the beautiful optical appearance of the instrument but also for its characteristic tonal character. The small, delicate scroll and the neatly engraved soundholes attest solid skills of the maker. The traditionally thinly applied red-brown varnish shows heavy signs from playing and a larger retouched area on top that allows us to offer the crackfree violin at this reduced price. This highly recommendable Mittenwald violin is offered in excellent condition, it has been meticulously worked over by our master violin maker and is offered in perfect condition, ready to play. The violin responds instantly and has a clear, ringing and very powerful, warm voice.
