This old unlabeled German 3/4 violin unmistakably hails from the tradition-rich Bavarian violin making town of Mittenwald, where it was made around the turn of the 20th century. This good 3/4 sized violin clearly communicates a flawless craftsmanship: confidently accentuated edges, the solid carving of the scroll and the functionally crafted one-piece back of maple all reflect the handwork of a routined violin maker. In light of the minor scratches to the varnish on the top, this well-preserved 3/4 violin appears to have been well loved and frequently played because its voice is ideal for ambitious young learners. It has no cracks or damage. The mature character and fullness of its warm yet precise and radiant sound is rare amongst 3/4-sized violins in the price range. It is, like all old stringed instruments from Corilon violins, ready to play and has been thoroughly set up by the specialists at our workshop for violin making and restoration. We recommend it for serious young musicians.
