A fine English 7/8 master violin. The instrument is an exceptionally fine small violin having a bodylength of 34,9 cm. The violin was originally made by E. Willis, Reading (England) in 1913. The violin is labeled accordingly. The woods are well selected: the top made of regular medium grained spruce, the two piece back of flamed maple. The varnish is an oil varnish of an intense dark red color over a yellow ground with unique craquelle. The work is generally fine and delicate. The instrument is crackfree and in immediate playing condition. Its mature noble sound is clear and full-bodied, huge and voluminous in the lower ranges - bright an clear in the higher ranges. Special recommendation! Bereichen. Besondere Empfehlung! More 7/8 sized violins are listed in the "small sizes" category.
