Workshop manager: master violin maker (permanent position in Cremona)

In our beautiful historic workshop on the Piazza San Michele in Cremona, you will work with 1-2 journeymen on your own responsibility, almost like in your own workshop. You will organize the workshop, routinely carry out all work in making instruments ready to play, repairs, and, if necessary, restoration, in order to prepare our wide range of old and new string instruments in the best technical quality. Your responsibilities will also include working on the production of new violins and violas in small series.   • You would like to live in Italy and have successfully completed your training as a violin maker and/or passed your master's examination
  • You have several years of professional experience

  • You work in a goal-oriented manner and with a high level of technical and aesthetic skill, also in the construction of new instruments

Part-time bow maker or luthier for bow repairs (experience required) - Cremona.

We are looking for an experienced bow maker or luthier who specializes in bow repairs to join our team. In this position, you will be responsible for performing common tasks on bows, including hairing, winding, replacing leather, eye and action, cleaning, and preparing bows for play.

Requirements:

  • Experience in bow making or violin making.
  • Skills in hairing, winding, leather and action repairs.
  • Ability to put bows in ready-to-play condition
  • Attention to detail and high quality standards
  • Working hours: 3 to 5 half days per week by arrangement.

Compensation: compensation is by agreement and is based on sighting the quality of results of your work.
