This fine French 1/2 sized violin with a bright, mellow sound was made in Mirecourt around 1920, most likel in the Collin-Mezin fils atelier. The tonewoods are of finest quality and typical for the Vosges region: the violin top is made of medium grained spruce, the two piece back of mildly flamed maple. The glossy, transparent varnish is of a bright golden-orange color, with only minor traces of use and in excellent condition. This superior quality French 1/2 violin is crackfree and after having been worked over by our luthiers offered in immediate playing condition. Her bright, lovely sound is warm and with a mellow note.
