This Italian 3/4 violin is an extraordinarily rare instrument from Leandro Bisiach’s renowned workshop, where outstanding masters of the era refined the style of the Milanese school and brought it to its full fruition. A violin with a truly lovely sound for young talents.

Leandro Bisiach was able to look back on a long and brilliant career by the time he crafted this fine  ¾-sized violin in the 1930s, and it may have been one of the last instruments to pass through his hands. Given his exceptional talent as a violin maker and his highly cultivated sensibilities in terms of artisanal and musical quality, this student and eventual partner of Gaetano Antoniazzi became a leading figure of modern Italian violin making – an “Italian Vuillaume,” not only because of his own works but because of his workshop, a venue in which first-rate masters and most promising young talents mutually inspired each other for decades. It was within these esteemed circles that Bisiach created this ¾-sized violin; its thick coat of luminously golden orange-brown oil varnish reveals at a glance the high standards that Leandro Bisiach applied to his work. The elegant historic varnish is very transparent and accentuates the moderate grain of the spruce top and the dynamic flames of the  two-piece maple back, casting the tone woods in their finest light. In outstanding condition and free of cracks, this Leandro Bisiach violin offers up all of the assets of a strikingly radiant and bright voice with an unmistakably Italian character. The restoration experts at our workshop have set it up, and it has a certificate of authenticity by Eric Blot, the renowned expert on Italian violin making. A dependable and truly fruitful investment tin the artistic development of young soloists.
