Petite antique viola, a masterpiece made around 1800
The viola model is chosen after Antonius Stradivarius and built in a smaller size, with a body length of 37.8 cm. The top is made of medium-aged spruce, the one-piece back is made of mildly flamed, first-class maple with similarly mildly flamed ribs. The typical Markneukirchen varnish is an intense golden brown color with orange tones over a yellow base with many playing marks. Many older restorations, not in the sound post area, justify the low price. The large scroll is carefully and aesthetically crafted, and the fine edge inlay is well executed. This small Markneukirchen master viola is ready to play, with a mature and bright tone that is well balanced with easy response. Free shipping, with a 30-day return policy.
