The modern Italian school of violin making finds unmistakable expression in the personal model of the Italian luthier Umberto Lanaro, which is interesting both from an artisanal and a musical point of view: an instrument for professional musicians who appreciate its easy response and clear, radiant sound.
Anyone who, like the Italian violin maker Umberto Lanaro, relies solely on the good reputation of his work and consistently avoids the performance shows of violin making competitions, demonstrates great self-confidence - and rightly so, as the extensive œuvre of the master born in 1930 impressively proves. Umberto Lanaro builds his instruments according to his own models, which are based on the best traditions of Italian violin making and belong to its most interesting modern expressions. The Italian violin offered here, made in 1977, also articulates an unmistakably individual sound character that meets professional standards with its radiant clarity, easy response and slightly sweet note. First-class craftsmanship is evident in the expressive carving of the scroll, the cleanly cut soundholes and the extremely finely crafted purfling. The regular grained spruce of the top and the grooved flaming of the two-piece maple back are adorned with a richly applied orange-brown oil varnish in typical Italian style. In addition to Umberto Lanaro's label and branding, a handwritten signature and various branding marks attest to the provenance of this full-blooded instrument, which we offer undamaged and in excellent condition from first ownership. Our luthiers have restored this fine Italian violin, which is in perfect and undamaged condition with minor varnish retouching, to playing condition and have satisfied themselves of its first-class condition. Like all our instruments and bows, this includes a 30 day return policy, free worldwide shipping, our trade-in guarantee. The expert certificate by Eric Blot Cremona is included in the price.
