This viola, a modern Markneukirchen German viola of quality built around 1970, was made in the region around Markneukirchen. The viola's purfling was thoroughly inlaid and indicateantiqued red-brown varnish with beautifully made antiqueings. Regular, medium grained spruce was chosen for theviola top and flamed maple for the two-piece viola back. This beautiful German viola is preserved undamaged in excellent condition and - like all old stringed instruments from Corilon violins - the viola has been worked over by our luthiers, who made it ready to play. The viola features a large, warm and recommendably well-rounded sound with good volume and a deep viola character.
