This silver-mounted German violin bow is a high-quality masterpiece by Alfons Riedl, made in Bubenreuth around 1960. Alfons Riedl came to Franconia after World War II as a displaced person from Schönbach in Bohemia and continued the traditions of his family, which had already produced numerous instrument makers. The strong, octagonal bow stick made of red-brown pernambuco convinces with good balance, strength, high stability and active elasticity. In play, the balance point is sensed in the middle, slightly inclined to the upper half of the stick. With its fine handmade frog and a three-piece adjuster, this well preserved and excellent violin bow is attractively equipped. We offer this recommendable violin bow in ready-to-play condition and recommend it for its good playing characteristics and its large, clear and powerful ringing tone.
