This antique violin bow is a high quality piece from Markneukirchen, built with good craftsmanship around 1910/1920. The adjuster and the slide were apparently replaced in the 1940s when high quality metals were hard to come by due to favored armor production. The octagonal bar is medium thick and crafted of beautiful light brown pernambuco wood. The finely crafted head in typical Saxon style and the handmade ebony frog are an exception in this price range. This antique violin bow is undamaged and perfectly preserved. The sensed balance point is located towards the tip, the violin bow plays nicely strong yet agile and produces a strong, warm, powerful and round, radiant sound. Special recommendation!
