This excellent antique French violin bow was made around 1900 in the renowned J.T.L. atelier in Mirecourt. The round stick of fine quality brown pernambuco is both strong and stiff and tense and very elastic - an excellent player that produces a strong, bright, clear, French radiant tone. The ebony frog is elegantly slender and features beautiful nickel fittings in the early JTL atelier style that counted J.J. Martin among its collaborators. This violin bow is 74.8 cm long including the adjuster with a balance point that feels centrally and broadly located, slighty tending to the lower half of the stick and is measured at 26.3 cm. The luthiers in our atelier extensively worked over this very good French violin bow and made it ready to play. The warm, large sound that this French violin bow draws in ready to play condition is rich in volume and bright in character and fully justifies the good reputation of its place of provenance. The price includes a certificate of authenticity by JF Raffin Paris, that can be viewed at by a click on the certificate button.
