This French violin was built approx. 1900 in the renowned workshops of Jérôme Thibouville-Lamy (J.T.L.) in Mirecourt. With a slightly stronger neck and a wide fingerboard it is especially suitable for the larger hands of male musicians. The instrument bears a stamped, original Phebes-label inside the body; the attractively large sound-holes were cleanly cut and indicate the good quality of this violin that was built after a well-proven Stradivari model. A new rosewood setup was applied by our violin maker that matches very well to the shining orange-brown varnish of this undamaged instrument, that is offered in perfect condition after a complete work-over, ready to play with a resonant, warm and well-balanced sound, that is mature and with good volume.
