This antique violin from the region of Schönbach-Markneukirchen-Klingenthal region in Saxony/Bohemia was built approx. 1900 after the model of Jacobus Stainer, a style that was very popular among the Vogtland/Bohemian violin makers of this time. Many workshops crafted quality Stainer violins in varying qualities, and this violin with an outstanding sound clearly is the work of an experienced one, where the beauty and secrets of the Stainer pattern was well understood. The delicate soundholes bear the characteristic shape, and the typical shape and arching is perfectly crafted. The one-piece maple back and the table has a beautiful texture and antiqueing, and the top is made of quality medium grained spruce. The violin is well preserved and was worked over thoroughly by our luthiers who made it ready to play. This antique Bohemian "Stainer violin" unfolds its warm, medium dark and clear sound, that is rich in overtones and with good resonance. Violinist's recommendation!
