A fine 20th century fullsize master violin by Grüner. The violin is branded Grüner on the back and internally. The model is flat and after Stradivarius. The top is made of regular medium grained spruce, the back is a one piece back of flamed maple. The varnish is an oil varnish of a warm red-brown color over a golden ground. The scroll is well cut and fully undercut. The inlaid purfling is broad and made with elegance. The violin has a new setup with a fine new luthier made bridge, a new soundpost, a new tailpiece and strings (two ebony pegs are new). The violin is well presevered (a repair to the pegbox, otherwise crackfree) and in immediate playing condition. The sound is a beautiful powerful bright and brilliant sound rich in overtones (yet not hurting the ears).
