This German violin Markneukirchen violin has an outstanding sound for an instrument in this price range, it is a classical instrument with an unmistakable German Saxonian provenance. It was built approx. 1920 in Markneukirchen, the famous center of violin making in the Vogtland region. The instrument clearly shows its origin with characteristical model with its woods purfling and corners. It was built after a Stradivari model with medium ribs at flat arch. The carefully executed purfling is a work of skilled craftsmanship, that was made by an unknown luthier. The beautiful, golden-brown varnish with antique touches bears traces of playing, as are typical for old violins with good musical qualities. Besides these traces of use the violin is in undamaged condition and was carefully worked over in our atelier for violin making and restoration, where it was made it ready to play. With precise and immediate response the warm, mature, clear sound of the violin unfolds, that bears good volume and is well balanced across the strings.
