Fine Italian violin of the 18th century (certificate by Hieronymus Köstler)

The antique appearance of this outstanding 18th century Italian violin is determined by the luminous and rich oil-based varnish and the striking flaming of the maple back. With its beautifully structured surface, this fine Italian violin of the Venice school is distinguished and full of character. It bears an undecipherable label, as well as some signatures inside. This remarkable 18th century Italian violin was carefully handcrafted and made from Italian tonewoods featuring optimal sound qualities. The intensely colored oil varnish is of a deep rich red color, with beautiful patination. It was richly applied on a golden-yellow ground and has faded at the common places. With some restoration, among them a patched soundpost crack on the back, this violin is ready to play, worked over by our workshop luthiers. It is a fine and delicate 18th century Italian violin well suitable for demanding players seeking a giving violin that is ready to play, with a bright, sweet, warm, precise and differentiated, luminous sound - yet not to loud. A certificate of German authority Hieronymus Köstler is included.
