The instrument is fine German master violin from the 1930'ies, originally made by Paul Kleinlein in the city of Emden in 1938. The violin bears the original dated label and brandstamps. The instrument is a fine and quite attractive piece of work after Guarneri del Gesu, the workmanship is of high quality; the work thoroughly finished. The varnish is a beautiful oil varnish of an orange brown color, thinly applied. The instrument is despite a minor edge repair on top undamaged and in perfect condition. It has been set up and adjusted by our violin maker and is tonally optimized. The violins powerful ringing sound is bright and clear, carrying, rich in overtones; a mature character in the lower ranges (also warm) - generally quite dominant. Special recommendation!
