This elegant French J.T.L. violin was built in the early 20th century after Stradivari patterns, a skillfully crafted instrument that was very likely made in the renowned J.T.L. ateliers in Mirecourt. It bears the label of the dealer Kochly inside. The shining, light honey-brown varnish over a golden-yellow ground features the highly elegant appearance of the violin, that is offered with varish flaws only in exceptionally good, crackfree condition, as it is quite unusual for old violins of this age. It was made perfectly ready to play by our luthier and unfolds its convincing, mature and strong sound, that is light in the upper ranges, dark in the lower ranges, precise and slightly soft, with a noble undertone. A highly recommendable instrument with comfortable and easy playing properties.
