This beautiful French "Imitation italienne" violin is an especially beautiful and very good sounding handmade instrument of Mirecourt, made around 1920. This good violin is made from attractive and quality materials. The wood of the table is medium grained spruce, the two piece back is made of deeply flamed maple. The archings are very nicely worked out. The glossy varnish is of an intense dark orange-brown color over a golden yellow ground, in very good condition. This French violin is crackfree and with solid repairs to the table and back seams well preserved and has been - like all instruments from us - approved and meticoulously worked over by our violin makers and is offered in fine playing condition. Her beautiful, matured sound is well-balanced, clear, warm and of good strength, open, sweet, resonant and with some charming dark undertone.
