Mirecourt is the home of this lovely and characterful French violin, which boasts an exceptionally mature, full-bodied tone for its price range. The instrument, dating from around 1920, was most likely built in the workshops of Collin-Mezin or an associated workshop in Mirecourt, based on the Collin-Mezin model and commissioned by Collin-Mezin. A Paul Kaul label and brand stamp were added later. Very typical of early 20th-century Mirecourt instruments is the elegance of the model and the f-holes, as well as the shaping of the arch. The rich reddish-brown varnish with a subtle patina and signs of wear defines the antique appearance of the violin. The overall condition of this beautiful French violin is very good; we offer it crack-free and ready to play. The violin has been carefully inspected by our luthiers and, like all Corilon instruments, has been extensively overhauled by our luthiers and fitted with new strings. The characterful sound is rich, powerful, warm, clear, and well-balanced across the strings. Delivered with free shipping, a 30-day return policy, and Corilon’s trade-in guarantee.
