This full-blooded Italian violin with a warm, golden and mellow sound demonstrates experimental joy and craftsmanship of typical "Italian" quality. It is a violin made by Vittorio Mutti in Castiglione in 1940, an instrument with exceptionally beautiful melting sound, unique woods and an indeed interesting scroll. The spirit varnish has been somewhat carelessly applied, its dark red color puts the beautiful grain of the sound woods in the most appealing light. This Italian violin by Vittorio Mutto is in very good condition and undamaged with the exception of a small pegbox repair. Its sound is of suprising quality - mature, Italian and with a sweet undertone that is highly appreciated in Italian instruments. The price includes a certificate of authenticity by J.-J. Rampal, Paris.
