Antonio Iornini is one of those Italian liutai who, in keeping with the double meaning of that word, have earned greater fame in the world of guitars than in violin making. With this attractive Italian violin by Antonio Iornini we present a unique piece no. 89 by an Italian luthier who worked in Naples in the 20th century and made this beautiful Italian violin around 1940. The moderately-grained spruce that was used to craft the top is a wood that grew very evenly and is quite rare in its premium quality. Narrow flamed maple was chosen for the two-piece back; in doing so, the maker deliberately included spectacular aesthetic effects, given the excellent resonant properties of these woods. The body shows a highly personalized Stradivarius model; the luminous orange oil varnishwith craquellation is remarkable in its transparency and radiance. The experts at our restoration studio meticulously wortked it over, and now this attractive Italian violin is ready to play. Its outstanding voice with its typically Italian character and warm, sweet notes has earned our special recommendation in the price range.
