Italian violins made by the modern Sicilian master Michelangelo Puglisi are highly sought after by soloists, since their outstanding sound qualities and unique expressions of the luthier's originality make them excellent representatives of Italian violinmaking. The family workshops for stringed and plucked instruments of Reale Puglisi & Figlio in Catania were founded in 1880 by Michelangelo Puglisi's father Giuseppe Reale Puglisi. From 1906 Michelangelo Puglisi managed the company, where his brother Concetto Puglisi also worked as a luthier.

There are not many of his handcrafted pieces, but to this day his instruments remain popular amongst demanding musicians. This old Italian violin bearing a dated Puglisi facsimile label was probably made in the Puglisi family workshop and may be seen as a compelling proof as to why Puglisi's work was so well regarded. The arches of the instrument are sophisticated, and its high quality is evident in the beautiful flaming on the two-piece maple back. The interesting scroll on a long, narrow peg box and the pronounced corners expresses the violin's individual and elegant style. The thin coat of light-brown oil varnish has suffered from unprofessional treatment and varnish loss some of which is very intense; the overall aesthetic serves as a complement to this Italian violin's character. This old Italian violin has been brought back to life by our specialist for restoration, it is a beautiful violin full of character and expresses a warm, matured Italian voice; its resonant clarity is highly recommended. It is a rich and golden sounding , crackfree old Italian violin that was meticulously set up by the experts in our atelier and is offered ready to play. With 30 days returns, an optional certificate and Corilon's unlimited trade-in guarantee.
