Carlo Colombo Bruno (1872-1964) was a multi-award winning violin maker who worked for the Verdi Conservatory in Turin for 50 years, earning the highest acclaim for his violins and cellos based on Stradivari's model. This violin from his early work is a classical Italian instrument of high artistic rank.

The noble carving of the scroll decorated with elegantly blackened edges and the broad, falling flames of the two-piece maple back under Carlo Bruno's typical transparent reddish-brown oil varnish reveal the quality of this Carlo Bruno violin at first glance. With a body length of 35.2 cm, the violin is kept slightly smaller, making it especially comfortable to play for violinists with smaller hands. The pretty craquelle gives a charming antique character to the work of the talented young master, who won medals in Turin, Marseille and Paris in those years.
