German violin by Johann Goldfuss, one of the last works by the renowned master, crack-free, original label, with excellent sound.

Johann Goldfuss (1908–1970) was one of the last representatives of the Saxon-Bohemian violin-making tradition in the 20th century and, as a student of Mathias Heinicke, belonged to its most important lineage in this era. He also received important inspiration during his years of travel, which took him to renowned workshops in Berlin and Budapest and finally to Eugenio Degani in Italy. After the Second World War, Johann Goldfuss settled in Schwandorf, Bavaria, and founded the family-run Regensburg violin-making workshop, which still exists today. The violin offered here, a mature instrument from his late work, is an interesting and beautiful example of his consummate craftsmanship.

Johann Goldfuss leaves no doubt about his artistic stature with his choice of exceptionally beautiful medium-aged spruce for the top and spectacularly flamed maple for the back, whose luminous color and structure are further enhanced by the one-piece construction. The very appealing scroll, with its opulent shape and detailed workmanship, also presents itself with confidence. The flawless varnish work in a dark golden yellow hue is the unmistakable work of an experienced hand that worked with the utmost care and a fine aesthetic sensibility. Very well preserved and free of cracks, this Johann Goldfuss violin is in excellent condition, ready to play, and has been inspected and tested by our violin makers. We deliver worldwide with free shipping, a 30-day return policy, and the Corilon trade-in guarantee.
