Dr. Joseph Nagyvary analyses the specific characteristics of classical Italian violins by Stradivari and Guarneri. By applying modern technologies, Dr. Nagyvary succeeded in identifying certain structural features of the woods used by Cremonese masters. His findings have been published in Nature magazine (Nagyvary et. al, 2006). Based on his research, the tonewoods of this violin were chemically and microbiologically treated to achieve optimum tonal qualities resembling those of the old masters. Nagyvary violins have been repeatedly tested against original Stradivarius violins, and no difference in sound could be detected. The violin is sold with some letters and a new certificate by Dr. Joseph Nagyvary. Original purchase price $16,000.
