French violin made in Mirecourt around 1900

This unmistakably old French Mirecourt violin with its attractively antique appearance was crafted in the 1900's in Mirecourt, the famous violin-making town in the Vosges Mountains. The same region also provided the beautiful tonewoods for the violin, which was patterned after a model by Antonio Stradivari. The dark reddish-brown varnish shows many expressive traces of playing, and the deeply carved scroll is a characterful and high-quality piece of work in an unmistakably French style. Our violin makers have completely refurbished this beautiful French “Stradivari violin,” which is offered at nearly half price with a repaired back seam, eady to play. Its warm, powerful sound is rich in overtones, balanced and resonant, a good example of the high tonal standards of French stringed instrument making. Free shipping, with a 30-day return policy and trade-in guarantee.
