Modelled on the instruments of Giovan Paolo Maggini, this lovely French violin was made in 1936 and, with its elaborate inlays and ornamentation, stands out as a particularly high-quality instrument – a fine, well-crafted and richly decorated example of this popular model. The outline, the characteristic flat arching and the shape of the f-holes are unmistakable. The luminous light-brown varnish is highly transparent, a finish that tastefully complements the ornamentation. This lovely and rare French violin has been fully restored in our workshop and is in very good condition, ready to play immediately, with only a minor repair to the outer F-holes.
