French violin bow in the classical French tradition with a warm, big character – medium-strength stick
In the period after the Second World War, François Lotte (1889–1970) was able to build on the success of the workshop he founded in 1926, supplying renowned violin makers with his work. The Francois violin bow offered here, made around 1950, shows that Lotte had the freedom to explore interesting artisanal avenues during this period, where he deviated from his relatively strong standard model and, as in this case, created comfortable-to-play violin bows that are excellent for nuanced violin playing.
With a total weight of approximately 60g, an extremely hand-friendly ebony frog, and a center of gravity that tends slightly toward the lower half, this François Lotte violin bow makes even complicated bowing techniques intuitive and forgiving of mistakes. The round bow stick is made of light brown, first-quality pernambuco wood, whose rare, beautiful dark grain is skillfully highlighted in the head area. Classically equipped with high-quality nickel fittings, a narrow ebony frog, and a one-piece tip, this highly recommended French violin bow is in undamaged, very good condition. Inspected by the experts at the Corilon workshop, it is ready to play with a highly recommended bright sound of carrying, resonant substance.
