This superbly preserved French violin bow comes from the workshop of renowned bow maker Charles Louis Bazin (Louis Bazin). It was made around 1935, at a time when Bazin was already independently running the traditional family business. His father and teacher, Charles Nicolas Bazin, had handed over the workshop in Mirecourt to him in 1907 – a responsibility that Louis Bazin fulfilled with great success. Under his leadership, the Bazin workshop reached its artistic and technical peak. Despite his own distinctive style, Louis Bazin always remained true to his family's high quality standards.
