French violin bow by Roger-François Lotte, made around 1975. Roger Lotte was the son of the renowned bow maker François Lotte and continued his father's craft with a clear technical focus. The round, medium-strength stick made of reddish-brown pernambuco wood offers a balanced combination of strength and elasticity, which allows for both powerful, expressive playing and fault-forgiving characteristics. The strongly carved, curved head is precisely cut and corresponds to the characteristic workshop design of the Lotte family workshop. The nickel silver-mounted ebony frog with Parisian eye is cleanly crafted and harmoniously proportioned. The center of gravity is broad and centered, with a tendency toward the lower half, supporting stable control in different playing styles. The sound is warm, clear, and powerful with good projection and a defined response. The violin bow is in undamaged, very good condition and has been set up ready to play. A certificate from J.-F. Raffin, Paris, is included in the price.
