 This antique and very attractive master violin, a xopy of J. F. Pressenda, is a product of best Czechoslovakian craftsman tradition. Made in the late 19th century around 1880, the expressive model refers to the grand Italian violin making tradition, made with elegant arch and flutings. The top is made of medium grained spruce, the two piece back of maple with mild grain. The bold carving of the scroll may indicate a later addition of the scroll, which /gb/library/instruments/the-violin-provenance-value-and-appraisal">violin varnish is of a golden-orange-brown color, richly applied and with wear and patination. We have included this  Czech master violin after Pressenda at attractive rate in agreement with the previous owner.  It has some restoration to the ribs, but no cracks or damage to table and back. This Pressenda copy is especially attractive for limited budgeted players seeking a top quality brigh, clear, ancient sound rich in overtones.
