This antique Markneukirchen violin was made for A.E. Fischer in 1897 after high quality violin standards, following the best craftsman tradition of the Markneukirchen region. Selected tonewoods of premium quality were covered by a richly applied varnish of a light-brown color, with meaningful traces from playing in the high positions it is very well preserved. The attractive antique varnish emphasizes the beauty of the medium grained spruce top and the attractive two-piece violin back of flamed maple. This quality handmade German Markneukirchen violin has a repair to the button only and is preserved in good condition, no cracks, and after having been worked over in our atelier and offered ready to play. It is a very responsive instrument, pleasing as well with its large, warm sound that is of good strength and somewhat sweet in the higher ranges.
