Otto Dürrschmidt - Violin bow from Markneukirchen

Lightweigh German violin bow made after 1950 by the Markneukirchen bow making workshop Otto Dürrschmidt. It bears the stamp and the emblem of Otto Carl Dürrschmidt who headed the workshop until he died in 1922. His sons Kurt Otto and Carl Wilhelm Dürrschmidt kept these signs as a renowned brandmark and continued the work of their father with great international success. The light yetr strong, octagonal stick is of fine, premium craftsmanship and was made of light-brown pernambuco wood, with a head that was carved with utmost care. The sensed balance-point is in the upper third of the bow, measured at 27.0 cm. Its noble appearance is completed by the delicate ebony frog that bears the OD-logo.
